BIOREM INTERNATIONAL is an international operations arm of Alpha Omega Bioremediation, a successor to Lambda Bioremediation Systems, Inc. (LBSI) whose expertise in the field of bioremediation is still unmatched. During its 35-year history, Alpha Omega/LBSI completed hundreds of projects in 37 of the 50 U.S. states. The province of Ontario, Canada’s Ministry of the Environment has also officially recognized LBSI’s technology as adequate for “in situ bioremediation of a wide range of organic chemicals found at contaminated sites in Ontario.”
Our system remediates contaminants of concern as well as the derivative products generated during the attempted destruction of contaminants by chemical means. In the final result, there are no negative residual effects or unwanted byproducts created.
Cleanup is achieved with naturally occurring microbes and we do not use, nor have ever used, genetically modified organisms.
Contaminants such as heavy metals, organic solvents, petroleum products or acid mine drainage have been and are being remediated as we speak. But there is no ‘secret magic bullet’ to cleaning these contaminants. Rather, the approach relies on harnessing the science of nature and developing, enhancing and balancing naturally occurring microbial consortia within the environment so the right microbes are in the correct numbers and the correct location to deconstruct contaminants.
This natural systems approach was developed by Jo Davison more than 30 years ago. As in any scientific endeavor, one learns from and builds on past experience and reliable data.
Today, Alpha Omega Bioremediation continues this scientific approach building on the successes of Jo Davison’s work with modern tools and resources. But the fundamental process remains the same – work with the nature and within the scientific laws of nature to deconstruct contaminants.
This approach has been successful over the past 30 years and will continue to be well into the future. This philosophical principle defines our culture.
