Every member of Biorem’s Laslo family of chemical products is environmentally safe and water soluble. The Laslo formulations are developed for decontaminating soil, water, and especially metal surfaces such as industrial and oil extracting or processing equipment from any type of petroleum-based waste products.
Laslo begins working on contact with hydrocarbon contaminants. The results achieved are complete and irreversible.
Laslo is especially effective when used on metal surfaces, which makes it ideal for cleaning metal parts, fuel spills of ship decks, degreasing engines, cleaning locomotives, oil pipeline equipment, etc.
Laslo removes traces of oil from the inside of the oil or fuel storage tanks. It reduces the risk of fire or explosions. It leaves no residue, and is non-corrosive.
Laslo breaks down oil, grease, fuel and lubricants into water, air and carbon. Depending on application and the severity of contamination, Laslo can be diluted with water.
Laslo has no flash-point. It contains no volatile organic components,
For the degreasing and cleaning of steel parts before phosphating and for cleaning of steel surfaces before painting.
Phosphating of metals is one of the most important of surface treatment methods and a number of modern metal finishing procedures would not be possible without it. The main areas of application of phosphating are:
• Corrosion protection in conjunction with organic coatings, e.g., paints and polymer films
• Facilitation of cold-forming processes, e.g., wire drawing and tube drawing, deep drawing
• Corrosion protection in conjunction with oils and waxes
• Corrosion protection with no subsequent treatment
The phosphating sequence is normally broken down into the following stages:
• Degreasing and cleaning
• De-rusting and de-scaling
There is normally a rinse between the individual processing steps in order to remove the solution layer from the metal surface and to avoid carry-over of this as an impurity to the subsequent stage.
Mid-alkaline degreasing chemicals are commonly used in ultrasonic degreasing baths. Cleaning effect is high by the aid of ultrasonic vibrations. Chemical concentration is in the range of 2 – 5% with time duration of 3 – 7 minutes. Of course these values depend on the type of grease/oil on the metal surface.
Important parameters in alkaline degreasing baths are chemical concentration, treating time, temperature and total alkalinity. Additionally, hardness of the water effects degreasing. In case of insufficient cleaning even if all parameters are optimal, degreasing additives can be used to improve degreasing effect.
For spraying applications, Laslo works at a wide range of temperatures between 30C and 65C.
Laslo is economical – effective concentrations are between 2 and 10 grams per liter.
Laslo is quick – effective cleaning time is from 0.5 to 2.5 minutes.
For immersion applications, Laslo works at a wide range of temperatures between 55o C and 65oC.
Laslo is economical – effective concentrations are between 20 and 35 grams per liter.
Laslo is quick – effective cleaning time is from 5 to 15 minutes.
